Ethereum Outlook Tests Critical $1,800 Barrier
Ethereum Outlook stays cautious as $1,800 remains decisive while liquidation trends reveal continued seller dominance and leveraged volatility.
- Ethereum faces persistent resistance near $1,800 as sellers continue defending previously established support zones across higher time frames.
- Long liquidations dominated recent market swings, reflecting leveraged positioning while short liquidations remained comparatively restrained throughout.
- Buyers require sustained strength above $1,800 before broader technical conditions can favor a stronger recovery toward higher resistance.
Ethereum Outlook remains cautious as higher-timeframe weakness, persistent selling pressure, and elevated liquidation activity continue shaping market sentiment despite recent stabilization across derivatives markets.
Higher-Timeframe Structure Keeps Sellers Ahead
Market analyst Sjuul | AltCryptoGems shared a chart outlining Ethereum’s current technical position. The analysis showed sellers maintaining control across higher time frames. Previous support levels have transitioned into firm resistance.
According to the shared chart, reclaiming $1,800 remains the primary technical objective. That level separates continued weakness from renewed bullish momentum. Buyers have yet to regain sustained control above resistance.
The analysis follows the classic Power of Three market framework. It divides price action into accumulation, manipulation, and expansion phases. Ethereum currently remains positioned after the manipulation stage.
The lengthy accumulation range reflected months of balanced trading activity. Buyers and sellers repeatedly defended established boundaries. That balance eventually ended with a decisive downside breakdown.
Power of Three Pattern Sets Recovery Conditions
The downside break initiated the manipulation phase identified within the technical framework. Selling accelerated after the lower range boundary failed. Long positions likely experienced widespread forced liquidations during that move.
Several recovery attempts followed the initial decline afterward. However, previous support consistently acted as fresh resistance. Sellers continued defending that zone without surrendering market control.
The chart projects a possible expansion phase after a confirmed recovery. That scenario depends entirely upon reclaiming $1,800 as support. A successful recovery could eventually target the projected $2,800 region.
Failure to recover resistance preserves downside risks across the broader trend. The analysis identifies the $1,400 area as meaningful support. That level becomes relevant if selling pressure strengthens again.
Liquidation Activity Reveals Persistent Market Caution
CoinGlass liquidation data complements the broader technical structure presented alongside the chart. January produced the largest liquidation event during the observed period. Long liquidations approached one billion dollars after Ethereum declined sharply.
Liquidation activity moderated through February, March, and much of April afterward. Both bullish and bearish positions experienced relatively balanced liquidations. Price movement also became considerably more stable during that period.
Fresh liquidation clusters appeared throughout May and early June. Those events mainly affected leveraged long positions during renewed weakness. Even so, liquidation totals remained below January’s extreme reading.
Ethereum as of the time of writing, trades at $1,747.19, recording a 0.88% daily increase and a 2.92% weekly gain. Meanwhile, 24-hour trading volume stands at $7.48 billion, reflecting active market participation. Until $1,800 is recovered decisively, liquidation trends and technical structure continue favoring cautious market positioning.
